M.A. Sławomir Mirosław Kałagate vel Kałagow is an alumnus of Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań where he accomplished studies in Archaeology on the Faculty of History, defending in 1992 his master thesis: "The state of research on the early Medieval settlement Góra Zamkowa in Żarnowiec, archaeological site no.1, Gdańsk Province". In years 1992-1999 he was working as a custodian in Archaeological Museum of Middle Oder Riverside in Zielona Góra, with headquarters in Świdnica. Since February 2000 he is an employee in Archaeological Conservation Laboratory of M.A. Alina Jaszewska.
Since 1994 Sławomir Mirosław Kałagate vel Kałagow participates actively in the Scientific Association of Polish Archaeologists (Department in Poznań), he is also a co-founder of its  Department in Voivodeship of Lubusz.
Member of the Board of Audit in years 2000-2004. Board member of the Scientific Association of Polish Archaeologists in its Department in Voivodeship of Lubusz .
Sławomir Mirosław Kałagate vel Kałagow was involved in numerous archaeological monitoring and emergency researches conducted in Voivodeship of Lubusz , e.g. in Kargowa, Kożuchów, Krosno Odrzańskie, Lubsko, Sulechów, Szprotawa, Świebodzin, Wschowa, Zielona  Góra, Żary, Żagań.
Coordinator of emergency excavations within huge investments, such as construction of the express road S-3, passage Szczecin 'Klucz' - junction 'Pyrzyce', Stargard Szczeciński bypass road, Wschowa bypass road, express road S-5 passage Czachurki- Poznań, Western bypass road of Poznań within the express road S 11, section IIA.

In 2010 Sławomir Mirosław Kałagate vel Kałagow was awarded the Silver Medal for Protecting Monuments.
